Imigs have very little calving difficulty in the spring or fall calving herds. They only have about 40 head left in the fall herd due to a sell-off in 2003 because of drought conditions. They pay attention to birthweight EPDs but feel that calf shape is as important as calf size. Growth and milk production are their most important criteria in herd bull selection.
Fall Calving HerdThey have sold all but 40 head of their fall calving herd. Sixteen of those cows are sired by their famous IHM 409 Domino 2110. The rest of the older cows are sired by SR Sabre 769 and CJH L1 Domino 821. There are also 3 heifers in the fall calving herd. Two of them are of CL 1 Domino 9126J bloodline and the other is a CJH Harland 408 heifer with a beautiful udder. Pictured to the right is Ear Tag #4224 - IH 769 SABRINA 4224 (42492453), a 2004 SR Sabre 769 daughter. |
